Message From the Dean

As Dean for the College of Education, I ask for your consideration to support the College in this year's USF Faculty & Staff Campaign. Your financial support is one way to demonstrate your commitment to the University, the College, and the students we are helping develop into tomorrow's educational leaders. I want you to know that your contribution, however small or large, matters a great deal to those who benefit from your generosity and to those whose academic programs are enriched by it.

The Campaign provides you the opportunity to contribute directly to a cause of your own choosing. I encourage you to consider supporting one of the funds highlighted (or another fund within your academic department or Center). Giving to USF demonstrates a shared belief and personal commitment to advance the vision and the mission of the College. Today, our college has a lot to be proud of:

* U.S. News & World Report?s, ?America?s Best Graduate Schools 2013,? ranks us 84th in the nation overall.

* We have graduated the largest or second largest number of educators in the State of Florida over the last 10 years.

* Our student body is highly diverse: The USDOE ranks us the largest public college of education overall; 72nd in degrees awarded to international students; 33rd for degrees awarded to African American Students/; 34th for degrees awarded to Latino/Hispanic Students.

* According to the, ?University Social Media Report, 2011,? published by Web strategy Research, we rank 4th out of 270 universities for our iTunes U content, behind only Duke, Penn. State and U.C. Berkeley.

* U.S. News & World Report ranks us 26th in generating external research funding and COEDU faculty garnered research funding averaging $20 million annually over the past five years.


This year, I am hopeful that the College of Education will set a new bar for the rate of participation. I ask that you seriously consider making a contribution of any amount. I thank you, in advance, for your support of the COEDU at USF.
